Ryohei Arisu (The gamer the empty city chose) is a character in Alice in Borderland, part of The Players. Ryohei Arisu is a jobless gamer disappointing his family professionally — until a fireworks flash empties Tokyo of everyone except him, his two best friends, and a city-wide system of survival games where the entry fee is your life and the prize is a visa: borrowed days before you must play again. Arisu's gift is the gamer's mind applied to lethal logic puzzles; his curse is surviving rounds his friends don't. The series is his long interrogation of the only question the games won't answer: what is this place, and what is a life worth inside it?
